5 Beginner Boxing Combos You Can Practice at Home
Short combinations are easier to remember, repeat, and improve. Start slowly, return to guard after every punch, and add speed only when your balance stays controlled.
1. The 1-2
The 1-2 is a lead jab followed by a rear cross. Use the jab to establish rhythm, then rotate through the rear hand without falling forward.

2. The 2-3-2
Throw the rear cross, lead hook, and rear cross. Keep the hook compact and let the final cross come from a balanced stance.

3. The 1-2-3
The jab-cross-lead hook combines straight punches with a hook. Finish with your chin protected and your feet underneath you.
AR Boxing sequence: ljh-rch-lhh

4. The 1-2-3-2
Add a rear cross after the lead hook. Do not rush the last punch; reset your guard before repeating.

5. The 1-2-slip-right-2
After the jab and cross, make a small slip to the right before returning with the rear cross. Keep the movement compact instead of bending at the waist.
